Short answers

Where does it run?

The brain runs on our servers; the client in your terminal does the reading, editing and running in your workspace, over an outbound connection.

What can it touch?

Files in the folder you start it in. Deletes and commands ask first; .env, private keys and .ssh are refused by the client itself.

What if I close the terminal?

Nothing is lost. Run cdnd again in the same folder and it picks up where you left off.
